A banner with a political message from SNS which was placed over the entire facade of the Palace of Albany, which endangered the lives of about a hundred young of the protected species of white-crowned birds that have nests there, was taken down tonight (May 30) around 20:30.
The moment the banner fell, the citizens shouted "victory, victory".
Citizens have been protesting since yesterday evening, demanding that the banner be removed so that white chicks can feed the birds.
The banner was removed by alpinists, five of them, and the process began at 19 p.m., as reported on Informer TV a little before that. announced by President Vučić.
Chiopes were flying around the palace all the time and waiting to approach the nests with the birds.
The banner was posted a day and a half ago.
The white cheetah is a strictly protected and endangered species, it has the category of vulnerable species. In Belgrade, they nest on tall buildings, in blind boxes, and are protected by law.
