The people of Novi Sad continue their protests in front of the houses of progressive officials. Is it "lynching", "pure Nazism" or something else?
In the northern part of Kosovska Mitrovica, a man of Serbian nationality was arrested on suspicion of having participated in war crimes against Albanian civilians in 1999 as a police commander. At the same time, the Kosovo police conducted a search in several facilities operating in the Serbian system, among them the waterworks in Zubin Potok and Mitrovica.
U northern part of Mitrovica, Brđani settlement, a man of Serbian nationality was arrested this morning on suspicion of being involved in war crimes in the municipality of Zvečan, announced Kosovar special prosecutor's office.
This is a man, with the initials M.Đ. arrested early this morning. The police confirmed for KoSSev that he was arrested by the Unit from Pristina, reports KoSSev.
He was arrested on the orders of prosecutor Florie Saljiha-Shamoli, the prosecution says, and that, as they say, after a months-long investigation.
The Kosovo authorities suspect that he, as commander of the Serbian police, participated in:
"Murders, deportations, robberies, torture and beatings of Albanian civilians in the capacity of commander of the Police Unit in this region, within the MUP, during 1998/1999".
In addition, it is suspected, says this prosecution, that he allegedly participated in a military and police operation in the village of Žaže, also in the Zvečan municipality, when seven Albanian civilians were killed in April 1999.
"It is suspected that during April 1999, the defendant M.Đ, together with Serbian forces organized into structured formations, including the Yugoslav Army and the Police of the Republic of Serbia, participated in an operation in the village of Žaža, where seven civilians were killed. The bodies of Albanian civilians were found after the end of the war at the cemetery in the village of Suvi Do, in the municipality of Mitrovica."
The Special Prosecutor's Office will, it is further stated, submit a request for custody to the Basic Court in Pristina.
The police raided the Regional Waterworks in Zubin Potok
Members of the so-called of the Kosovo Police raided the Regional Waterworks facility in Zubin Potok this morning. The police are searching the building, while the director and employees are in the water supply plant.
The plant in Zubina Potok supplies water to the residents of that place, as well as the northern part of Kosovska Mitrovica and Zvečani.
Members of the so-called On May 13, members of the Kosovo Police raided the premises of the "Vodovod Ibar" PUC in the northern part of Kosovska Mitrovica, which operates under the Serbian Government system, and the employees were ordered to leave the premises.
The Serbian newspaper announced that Pristina's incursion into the PUK "Vodovod Ibar" threatened not only the civilian population, but the water supply of all important facilities.
