The Higher and Basic Public Prosecutor's Office in Novi Sad announced that violence and property destruction and damage to the City Hall building by several persons, the protective fence of the nearby construction site of the underground garage, the official entrance to the premises of the Misdemeanor Court in Novi Sad and the premises Serbian Progressive Party on Liberation Boulevard, "where the flag of the Republic of Serbia was torn, and several police officers were attacked by protest participants."
The search for the suspect who harmed the reputation of the Republic of Serbia is ongoing, while intensive work is being done to establish the identity of other persons suspected of assaulting an official in the performance of official duties and destroying and damaging other people's property.
"We point out that in relation to the criminal offense of Causing general danger from Article 278, paragraph 3, in relation to paragraph 1 of the Criminal Code, which was committed by spilling feces from a cistern in front of the City Hall of the City of Novi Sad, in a place where a large number of people were gathered , caused the danger of the spread of the infection, and an investigation was carried out on the spot, during which the employees of the Institute of Public Health of Vojvodina carried out sampling, the analyzes of which are in progress", it was announced.
It was stated that all measures and actions are taken in accordance with the law, with the aim of elucidating and prosecuting the perpetrators of the aforementioned criminal acts, about which the public will be informed in a timely manner and regularly.
