The Reuters agency posted on its Twitter account a video showing Erdogan handing out money to gathered supporters in front of the polling station where he voted.
Erdogan won the second round of Turkey's presidential election, defeating opposition candidate Kemal Kilicdaroglu.
For the first time in its history, Turkey decides on the president in the second round of elections.
After declaring victory, Erdogan told supporters gathered in Istanbul that they had been given the responsibility to rule for the next five years.
His opponent, Kemal Kilicdaroglu, said he would continue his fight, after initial results showed he had lost in what he called "the most unfair election in years."
