On Friday, a group of student runners started a marathon from Novi Sad to Brussels in order to draw the attention of European institutions to the situation in Serbia
In white t-shirts with the inscription "Nobel winners run the lap of honor", a group of 21 students set off on a new expedition - relay ultramarathon from Novi Sad to Brussels, where a session of the European Parliament will be held where the situation in Serbia will be discussed.
The students started from the railway station in Novi Sad, where on November 1, 2024, it is in decline canopies 16 people died, and one was seriously injured.
They will run through the countries of the European Union under the slogan "From my village to Brussels".
A large number of people accompanied them from Novi Sad on a journey of almost 2000 kilometers.
One of the runners, Nikola Kojčin, told Radio 021 before the departure that the ultramarathoners bring the voice of all citizens with them to Brussels, not just their names, and that he wants Brussels to talk about the events in Serbia.
It is planned that they will be in Brussels on May 12, where they will present letters about the situation in Serbia to the European Parliament.
Farewell from Belgrade
With shouts of "pump" gathered in front of the blocked building Radio and Television of Serbia saw off the group on Friday (April 25) morning students from Belgrade, which is on its way to Brussels.
In front of the RTS building in Takovska and Aberdareva streets, which students block it more than ten days, this morning a large number of citizens and academics gathered to see off the student runners to Brussels.

A journey of almost 2000 kilometers
After visiting the length and breadth of Serbia, the students decided to move on, and to convey to the Europeans, who for months remained silent about the events in Serbia, what is happening in their country and to address the institutions of the European Union.
So first in April the cyclists rode to Strasbourg, and the runners decided to go one step further.
"We ran to Kragujevac, Niš and Belgrade, and somehow the idea came to us to run to Brussels, if necessary." he said earlier for "Vreme" Luka, one of the runners who is starting a long journey on April 25.
They decided to take a longer route than the cyclists when they saw that the cyclists did not arrive at the time of the European Commission session, so they now decided to arrive in Brussels just in time for the European Parliament session and to deliver the letters to the parliamentarians.
They have 1993 kilometers ahead of them, which they will run in the relay.
"The cyclists were in Strasbourg, they took the letters there, we want to go one step further and take the letters to Brussels, to show that those 500-600 kilometers will not be a problem for us and that if we need to, we will run there, that there are no obstacles that can prevent us from getting anywhere," said the "Vremena" interviewee earlier.
Their route is slightly different from the route taken by cyclists before them. While they passed through Hungary and Slovakia, further through Austria and Germany, to Belgium the runners on their way to Austria will pass through Croatia - through Osijek, Virovitica, Varaždin, Graz, Oberpulendorf, Vienna, Seitenstetten, Salzburg, Munich, Ulm, Stuttgart to Strasbourg. There he will take a one-day break and visit European institutions, and then the next day he will head through Metz, Luxembourg and Liège to Brussels.
Relay race
Students will run this distance in relays - divided into several groups, so that no one will cross the entire planned distance during one day.
"Everybody will run at least 15 kilometers a day. When someone hears 15 kilometers, they can say that it's okay, that they can do it without any problems, but when it's repeated day after day, they start to catch inflammation and then it's really risky, so we'll look to correct as much as possible, so that we can all endure. You need to endure running for 16 days at 15 kilometers," one of the runners explained earlier to "Vreme".
These experienced runners have created a plan according to which when they have a less strenuous distance one day, they will run a longer distance the next and vice versa.
In order to make sure that they are ready for what awaits them and that those who can carry out such an undertaking will actually run, they made a selection, and one of the criteria was the question of whether they had run the recently held Belgrade Marathon or a half-marathon race.
While the students are leaving for Brussels from Novi Sad, they are in the capital of Vojvodina sent by high school students on foot, in order to attend a large student protest.

Propaganda terror with lies and various confabulations, which is currently carried out by regime tabloids led by Informer, is part of the anti-rule of law pattern of action, it was stated in the statement of the Tomanović law office.
The protest was organized after the statement of Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić and SNS President Miloš Vučević, that four people who beat students and one female student broke her jaw in three places - "heroes".
While colleges vote on the beginning of online classes, students demand elections, and the government draws targets for "enemies". How does he choose them?
Lucky that Serbia has the "Informer research team"! Dragan J. Vučićević discovered the infernal plan of "criminals" and "blockaders" at the last minute and thus saved the country again. That he is lying is less important
Keeping sociology professor Marija Vasić in prison on charges of terrorism is an anti-civilization crime. Or grotesque, whatever you want. Why don't judges, prosecutors, policemen, security guards rebel against it
In a speech that made no sense from the point of view of logic and integrity, Vučić offered his voters everything they wanted to hear. But, all in contradictions. The spirit of rebellion can no longer return to the bottle because the bottle is broken
