Study at UNIRSM, citizens and activists gathered on Thursday around 19:XNUMX in front Radio and Television Serbiae, in order to protest the way in which the Public Service reports on blockades of higher education institutions.
Those gathered carried banners that read: "Don't lie to my grandfather", "History is written by students", "It's not up to the dog, but up to the owner", "We pay, we are not mercenaries", "We were beaten, we were not arrested" "Our the demands have not been met" "Batina has left the municipality" "Everyone is in blockades"...
The students read the announcement, reacting to the "shameful" statement of Serbian President Aleksandar Vuฤiฤ that they were "paid from both the outside and the inside" and that they were "fighting over the money they received for its demolition."
Student protest: Courage to think for oneself
"We have come to return the money," said the students and brought two empty sacks that symbolically denote the money that the President of the Republic accused them of receiving.
"We are leaving these sacks in front of the RTS building, you can deliver them to the president and tell him that the students demand a public apology." Signed 'Offended students'", one student read the statement.
This time, about fifteen minutes from the start of the primetime news broadcast, the RTS newspaper really joined the student protest for two minutes and more or less correctly reported on what was happening. In the past few days, it was ridiculous to what extent the Public Service kept silent about the fact that one after another, faculties all over Serbia were "falling" and that in the meantime, about fifty of them were blocked.
The "Danasa" reporter reported that some employees of RTS supported the students from the terrace by turning on the flashes on their phones.
The protest ended with a walk to the Rectorate, after which the students returned to the blocking faculties.
Students are making noise, blowing their whistles, just like last night in front of the presidency during the speech of President Aleksandar Vuฤiฤ.
Their goal is to make noise during the RTS daily, which starts at 19.30:XNUMX, because they do not publish information about their activities, but also because they said that students are paid.
Traffic in Takovska Street was stopped in both directions.
For now, everything is going smoothly, there are security guards at the entrance, and no uniformed police.
