Student list - students win is organizing a pre-election rally "3 on 3" tonight from 19 p.m Novi Pazar, and according to the expectations of Theo Taranis from the Academic Initiative "Forum 10", candidates from the list coming from Sandzak should speak at it, as well as several professors.
Taranis told N1 that the gathering should be different from previous student gatherings, primarily because it is a pre-election event where political messages are expected. As a special difference compared to the protest rally held on April 12 last year, he stated that then citizens came primarily to express their protest, while now the list addresses the voters as part of the pre-election campaign.
According to him, among the speakers will be several candidates from the student list from Sandžak, specifically from Novi Pazar, as well as some professors who are on the list.
Taranis expects that the meeting will pass without incident, but points to the tension that, as he states, exists on the eve of the gathering. Therefore, he believes that citizens will carefully decide whether to attend the rally.
According to his opinion, local Bosniak political parties, as well as the Serbian Progressive Party, will pay special attention to him. As he said, they will monitor the number of people gathered, their messages and the response of citizens from Novi Pazar and the wider area of Sandžak.
Taranis expects that because of this, the rally will be under a lot of attention from local political actors and SNS, and that there could be pressure on part of the local population who would like to support the student list to further consider attending the pre-election rally.
He assessed that such a situation is part of the broader political context that follows the pre-election campaigns in Novi Pazar. Therefore, according to his opinion, the number of people at tonight's rally may be smaller than the number of citizens who actually support the student list.
