On the occasion of the SOC announcement, the students said that their protests are based on the values of Saint Sava. Dušan S. and Nikolina Sinđelić assess that the generalization of students is unfair and that the Church should stand with young people who are fighting for a better society
Namely, one of the students actively participating in the blockade is Dušan S. from Niš.
He decided to celebrate the Saint Sava holiday by going to support his colleagues from Belgrade.
The Serbian Orthodox Church perceives the announcement as "shameful" and believes that a religious institution should not turn a blind eye to pressing problems in society.
"I believe that the vast majority of students who block colleges will distance themselves from this kind of behavior." This holiday, St. Sava, is extremely important, and I think it is irresponsible of the Serbian Orthodox Church to generalize the actions of students and to connect all the students who gathered at the car park today with that smaller group of people who are very likely not students", says Dušan.
He believes that the Serbian Orthodox Church should stand by the students' demands.
"They criticize us based on the actions of a few people, and they don't understand that the majority of students are just fighting for the fulfillment of their demands, and such actions are not something that agrees with the values we represent."
Sinđelić: Students protect their religion and country
Student Nikolina Sinđelić has a similar attitude.
"Although the SPC is an institution that we should respect, it is shameful that they have such a statement. Students protect their faith and country. In this way, I want to disassociate myself from that, but also from similar things for which the students of the Faculty of Political Sciences, FON and the Faculty of Law are blamed", adds Sinđelić.
"It is shameful, as she believes, that students who "defend the dignity of the state for weeks" are attacked by an important religious institution.

Columns of citizens headed towards Slavija from six directions - from Novi Belgrade, Zemun and Čukarica, and a little later, columns also started from Studentski trg, from the building of the technical faculty on Bulevar Kralja Aleksandra and from Autokomanda.
The message of the last gathering of the Student List before the elections on October 25 is: It's over! It's a little retro, but considering who it's related to, it hits the spot
The "Students are winning" list held a final pre-election rally on Belgrade's Trg Slavija ahead of the extraordinary parliamentary elections scheduled for Sunday, October 25.
"They tried to destroy our country on an external order. Huge money entered the country and that's why this is the most difficult battle, because they attacked us with billions of euros, and we defended ourselves with purity, our program and love for the homeland," said Aleksandar Vučić at the final pre-election meeting in Belgrade's Hall of Sports
There is, literally, no difference between the one who claims it is day in the middle of the night, or the one who claims to be a giraffe, from the claims we read on billboards: that Vučić is working to unify Serbs and that Serbia is doing better and better day by day.
The pre-election arrests due to the alleged "overthrow of the state" testify to the regime's panic. The bad news for them is - they can't arrest the whole people who decided to defend themselves from progressive beatings and election theft
The ring that tightens around Ćaciland Student list is getting narrower. Because there are more and more spoiled people who see the false prophet for what he is: a street obscener who is fighting Serbia
