Student list for the upcoming parliamentary elections there are 250 candidates for National Assembly, and the students state that its composition is the result of a process that lasted more than a year and included plenums, blockades, discussions and joint decision-making.
Among the candidates are representatives of various professions and social groups - professors, doctors, artists, activists, entrepreneurs, as well as citizens from different parts of Serbia.
The first on the list is Ilija Srdanović, cardiologist from Novi Sad and professor at the Faculty of Medicine.

Among the candidates are Sanela Ramadanović, Emilija Marković, Milena Petrović, Emil Ilić, Aleksandra Nikolajević, activist Zlatko Kokanović, professor of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine Saša Trajilović, cardiologist and professor of the Faculty of Medicine UB Aleksandar Nešković, professor Marija Vulović and Nikola Vujičić, professor of German.
Without a new "leader"
The students point out that the list was not formed by the decision of party leaders or behind closed doors. The names of the candidates were chosen through a decision-making process that was developed during more than a year of student blockades and plenums.
They admit that such a process was not always quick and simple, but it was important to them that the final list of candidates be the result of the principle of direct democracy, and not the political model they are fighting against.
They put special emphasis on the fact that the list is not based on one recognizable leader. The students say that they do not want a new leader or the creation of a "personality cult", but the responsibility of each individual candidate towards the citizens.
They expect future MPs to do their job responsibly, listen to the people they represent and explain the decisions they make. According to their view, the parliamentary mandate should not be seen as a reward, privilege or stepping stone for a political career, but as a public function for which citizens are accountable.
