Former basketball player Vladimir Štimac it has been re-determined police detention, even though the court had previously accepted the appeal of the defense.
Štimac's new detention was determined on practically the same basis - not to repeat the crime.
The decision on police detention for up to 48 hours was made by the Directorate of Criminal Police, namely the Anti-Terrorism Service, on the order of the senior public prosecutor, writes N1.
It came into effect on Monday at 2:30 p.m., and that detention includes the time that Štimac has spent in detention until now, more precisely since Monday at 00:40 a.m.
This means that Štimac must be brought before the prosecutor by the night between Tuesday and Wednesday.
The lawyers announce a new appeal, but they were told that they cannot deliver it to the police station, but to the court by post, which, according to them, would mean that Štimac will stay in the police station even longer, and another judge will decide for the previous offense, not the one who made the decision to cancel the police detention.
Lawyer Nikola Lakić said that Štimac was arrested last night in front of RTS for allegedly calling for the overthrow of the constitutional order.
"Vladimir Štimac is suspected of 'calling for the violent overthrow of the constitutional order', however, there is no fact that would confirm that there are elements of that, or any other criminal offense that the prosecution can prosecute ex officio", said Štimac's legal representative.
According to him, the entire procedure was "staged on Andrić's wreath".
What is Štimac charged with?
The Higher Public Prosecutor's Office in Belgrade previously announced that on November 2, 2025, in the afternoon and evening hours on Nikola Pašić Square in the immediate vicinity of the House of National Assembly, Vladimir Štimac called for a violent change in the constitutional arrangement and incited the participants of an unannounced gathering to attack the participants of the second reported gathering, which is being held in Pionirski Park, then on police officers, as well as the violent overthrow of the holders of the highest state positions.
According to VJT, Štimac, in front of the gathered citizens, who filmed him and later published it on social networks, called on other citizens to come to the House of the National Assembly everyone, to "call tractors to come from all sides", that "it's... everything" to them, calling the police officers who were in front of the House of the National Assembly - criminals, who were sent there by Vučić to "push the people who are looking for justice" and who "don't even have identification numbers".
"At the same time, in the recorded announcements, the suspect cursed the members of the police and the participants of the second rally, and repeated the call to the citizens to 'Go to the streets', trying to create an emotional charge among the citizens, with claims that the police are attacking Diana Hrka, the mother of a young man who died on November 1, 2024, when a canopy fell at the Railway Station in Novi Sad, and who is on hunger strike," announced VJT.
After he spotted a police officer, it is added, who was guarding the House of the National Assembly with a rifle on his chest, Štimac shouted at him: "Hello, put the rifle away, bro."
It was previously announced that Štimac was transferred to the Emergency Center, but the decision on the termination of custody has not yet arrived, Danas announced.
As this newspaper learns, there is a possibility of requalification of the work.
The text adds that after an examination at the Emergency Center, Štimac will be returned to the police station on November 29.
Portal Nova.rs writes that, although the judge accepted the appeal of the lawyer Vladimir Štimac and revoked the decision on detention for up to 48 hours, he is still in detention mode.
The moment of Vladimir Štimac's arrest at RTS:
Aleksandra, the wife of Vladimir Štimac, tells N1 that she saw the information that he was released in the media, but that she is still waiting for him to appear and that he is in front of the "29 November" police station.
In the meantime, TV Informer announced that the reason for Štimac's detention is that the police, by order of the Higher Public Prosecutor's Office in Belgrade, issued a new detention decision.
Although this information has not been confirmed, due to the connection between this media house and the security services of the Aleksandar Vučić regime, it is not surprising if the competent authorities announce to the public precisely this decision of the police.
"A new detention order was issued. The Higher Public Prosecutor's Office acted in accordance with the law. Kudos to the Higher Public Prosecutor's Office," said Dragan J. Vučićević in this television program.
It was confirmed on TV Informer that Štimac was examined at the Emergency Center at his personal request, but that he was then returned to the police station.

Vujošević: KSS to protect Štimac, continuation of government repression
The celebrated basketball coach Duško Vujošević said today that the arrest of the former basketball national team member Vladimir Štimac represents the continuation of the government's repression of citizens who are fighting for justice and a normal Serbia.
Vujošević told the Beta agency that Dijana Hrka's hunger strike caused great empathy among the majority of Serbian citizens and that Štimac did not do anything for which he should be arrested.
"I don't understand the government's need for such aggression and the engagement of security and various police units towards the citizens who came to support mother Courage Dijana Hrk. Štimac is a brave man, who reacted from the heart, and he didn't do anything terrible for which he would be arrested. I don't see any reason for aggression towards people who support a mother whose son was killed in the fall of the canopy at the Railway Station in Novi Sad. Štimac's arrest does not lead to a calmer situation."
He called on the basketball public to stand up for Vladimir Štimec.
"The Basketball Federation of Serbia and the club that Štimac played for should come up with some kind of action so that Štimac is acquitted of the crimes he is accused of, which he certainly did not commit."
