According to the office representing Milenkovic, after almost two decades of work in the criminal police, he was transferred from the Criminal Police Directorate to the Information Technology Sector of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, without an explanation based on facts and the law.
"The tenacity and perseverance of Milenkovic, together with Mitić and other non-corrupt police officers, to fully shed light on the financial, legal, security and organizational logistics that made the "Jovanjica" project possible, has so far led to a strong and coordinated media-political campaign aimed at the professional and personal degradation of the inspector. That campaign resulted in changes and redeployments, but also in endangering the lives of inspectors Milenkovic and Mitić, who today are being protected by members of special anti-terrorist units," the announcement states.
The law office assesses that Milenkovic's expulsion from the criminal police represents a new "legal-political jolt of the power centers". As they add, in the atmosphere of political schizophrenia, a campaign is being conducted against people who represent expertise and independence in state institutions, but also against facts and truth, with the aim of creating and maintaining a false reality.
"In order to protect the rights of Inspector Milenkovic, all available legal means will be used, regardless of the laziness of institutions such as the Administrative Court, which has not made a decision in the case of his removal for almost three years, as well as the Constitutional Court, which has not decided for more than three and a half years on the right to life and the state's responsibility for endangering the life of Milenkovic", according to the statement of the Tomanović Law Office.
