Session Assembly on whose agenda is the proposal of Fr voting of no confidence in the Government of Prime Minister Đur Macut was postponed until Thursday.
The members of the ruling majority did not return to the assembly hall, so for the second time there was no quorum to hold the session.
47 deputies were present at the session, and the session was adjourned until a quorum was secured.
Proposal submitted two months ago
The opposition MPs submitted the proposal for a vote of no confidence in the government on February 13.
The reason why they are asking for a vote of no confidence in the government, as stated in the explanation, is the existence of well-founded suspicions about the involvement of certain members of the government in the General Staff case, as well as the fact that the prime minister did not take any action in this regard.
As stated in the Constitution, Article 130, a vote of no confidence in the Government or an individual member of the Government can be requested by at least 60 MPs.
The proposal for a vote of no confidence in the Government or an individual member of the Government is considered by the National Assembly at the first following session, and no earlier than five days after the submission of the proposal.
After the debate is over, the proposal is voted on, and in order for it to be adopted, more than half of all MPs need to vote for it.

What does the opposition say?
The President of the National Movement of Serbia, Miroslav Aleksić, as the authorized proposer of the proposal for a vote of no confidence in the Government, on the basis of which the President of the Assembly Ana Brnabić convened the session of the Assembly for Wednesday, April 14, points out for Danas that, "although there is a hidden intention of the government behind this convening", he, like other opposition MPs, is ready to discuss "all the inactions of the Government, the Prime Minister and the ministers".
Aleksić says that scheduling the session of the Assembly two months after the opposition submitted the request, and that according to the emergency procedure, is "obviously a trick of the authorities".
"There is something hidden behind the way the session was scheduled, because the proposal was submitted two months ago, so by force of law it had to be at the first session of the regular session, and the spring session started on March 2, if I'm not mistaken, that is, from the first Tuesday in March," Aleksić said.
Dalibor Jekić, MP of the Freedom and Justice Party, tells Danas that we have finally waited for Ana Brnabić to remember that she is the Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia and schedule a session, after weeks of ignoring her basic obligation to the citizens and parliament.
"Tomorrow we will see if the Serbian Progressive Party is really ready to discuss the vote of confidence in the Government. In order for the session to begin, members of the government need to be present. Tomorrow they will drop their masks, or they will allow a real discussion, or they will confirm that the government has neither the courage nor the legitimacy to defend its own policy. That they are not ready to really discuss the vote of confidence in the Government is also shown by President Vučić's statement today that there is nothing to do with that," said Jekić.
The president of the Democratic Party, Srđan Milivojević, assessed that in Serbia "the 'recipe' from Hungary must be copied and a referendum atmosphere should be created here during the elections." For the announced session of the Assembly of Serbia on confidence in the Government of Serbia, the leader of the DS said that it was a show and called on his opposition colleagues not to participate in that session.
Srđan Milivojević said that one should be supported, that is, the student column that has the "highest chance of winning".
"We, as the Democratic Party, support that column with our capacity. It is the column that has the greatest chance to win and to bring about changes," he said.

Government: Session according to the Constitution and the Rules of Procedure, the opposition does nothing
According to Rodoljub Šabić, the President of the Assembly, Ana Brnabić, violates the Rules of Procedure by scheduling the session "today for tomorrow", while including a proposal that is two months old.
He added on his X account that, despite the fact that the regular session has been going on for a month and a half without a single session being held and that there are dozens of laws in the parliamentary procedure, now a session is being "expressly" scheduled with what he considers to be a meaningless agenda.
The head of the SNS parliamentary group, Milenko Jovanov, rejected those claims as unfounded, stating that the session was scheduled in accordance with the Constitution and Rules of Procedure, because the proposal for a vote of no confidence in the government is considered at the next session after its submission.
"Now, when she called the session, it's not working for them again. Make up your mind about what you want. You can't even get in the way when you're constantly changing your mind. And in the future, if there's an opportunity at all, think carefully about what you're proposing and asking for, because you never know when it's going to come true, that is, when we're going to fulfill your wish," said Jovanov.
The President of the Assembly of Serbia, Ana Brnabić, in a post on social media X, cynically assessed that the opposition carefully plans its moves as if it functions like a Swiss watch.
"They asked for a session of confidence in the government, now they are afraid that we will vote no confidence. A man could not invent this.... It can be seen that they carefully plan their every move and that they function like a Swiss watch," reads Ana Brnabić's post.
