The opposition is still fighting for a repeat of the elections due to the alleged migration of voters to Belgrade, and new accusations are already being made before the local elections in the spring.
In a few months, regular local elections should be held in a large number of cities and municipalities. Novi Sad is among them.
The Movement for the Restoration of the Kingdom of Serbia, referring to the data they received from the City Administration for General Affairs of Novi Sad, and based on the Request for Access to Information of Public Importance, announced that the number of voters in this city increased by 23 within 2.805 days. .
As they state, in the period from December 17 to January 9, the number of voters grew by an average of 122 people per day.
Can it be prevented?
The December elections were marked by the fictitious migration of voters, which is suspected to be happening under the direction of the ruling party.
The observation mission of Crta announced immediately after the election that these migrations probably had a decisive influence on the outcome of the very close elections for the Assembly of Belgrade.
The question is whether something like this can be prevented.
In an interview for the current issue of "Vemena", program director of Crta Raša Nedeljkov, when asked whether electoral engineering and "moving" of voters can happen again and whether it is possible to prevent it, answers: "With the existing way of working of the institutions, it cannot be prevented."
"Only if the institutions wake up and start protecting the public interest, then this is possible." If there is a political interest in conducting electoral engineering in some municipalities, we can expect this kind of "intervention" in municipalities where parties from the government have a bad rating.
"We no longer have any confidence in the voter list. "We don't know if the same people can fictitiously vote at several polling stations in different parts of Serbia in one election," added Nedeljkov.
What will happen next?
Aleksandar Radovanović, president of the Executive Board of the Movement of Free Citizens, is convinced that the fight of "Serbia against violence" will lead to better electoral conditions in the next vote.
"It is important not to allow the trap of the regime to repeat the elections in Belgrade due to the impossibility of forming a city government. "The government is not formed because we caught them stealing," Radovanović told za Deutsche says.
Repeating the elections in Belgrade is not enough, he adds, "if we will go to the elections again with a voter list in which 150 people are registered at an address where there are no living conditions for anyone".
