Savo Manojlović explained at the press conference on Tuesday why the amendment of the new Law on Referendum is important. He said that he practically limits the constitutional right of citizens to, with a certain number of collected signatures, propose laws, because a fee of one million and two hundred thousand dinars has been introduced for that.
Manojlović believes that the citizens who initiate the initiative for the referendum must be ensured that they can control the vote, and not that only political parties can do that. He also explained that the validity period of the referendum must be changed, and not repeated every year, if someone is not satisfied with the result.
The second ultimate demand of Kreni-Permeni is the withdrawal of the Law on Expropriation.
Manojlović explained that the fact that a certain law is in accordance with the Constitution "does not mean that it should be treated as Holy Scripture and that it cannot be changed", which is one of the main arguments of the government regarding the validity of both laws.
Manojlović did not comment on the discussion with the leader of Together for Serbia, Nebojša Zelenović, during his guest appearance on "Utisk Nedelja", when he accused him of "breaking the agreement" because he asked for new demands to be made at the protest - the replacement of Olivera Zekić and REM members , and according to an urgent procedure, the passing of a law that would ban all lithium mining in the Jadra valley once and for all.
Zelenović replied that "the agreement was to negotiate" and that with 100 people on the streets, they should now "nail it down", i.e. expand the number of demands, because, as he says, "people are angry" about everything, not only about Rio Ink and these two laws.
Manojlovic replied that the tactics that bring results should not be changed and that the protests will turn into a "jukebox" if new demands are added every week.
After this discussion, it remained unclear whether, and if - by whom, the list of demands will be expanded.
The only thing that is certain is that the road blockade throughout Sbia would lose the pure epithet of "environmental" protest if one of the demands was a change in REM.
For next Saturday, Manojlović announced even more massive road blockades throughout Serbia.
