The logic that only the one who understands the poorest and least educated class of society can rule in Serbia has always been favored by repressive systems, and above all by political parties that had a nationalist narrative behind them.
Thus, in recent months, during student protests and actions of dissatisfied citizens, the former stood out radical, now in the role of some kind of journalist, Nemanja Šarović. A decade or two ago, they met him at the entrance to the municipality of Zemun, because right next to the door is the entrance to the headquarters of the radicals, to the space they appropriated during the long rule of this municipality. Now he is the one who chases radicals, old and new, around Serbia to question them about everything.
A photo robot of the ideal anti-progressive candidate
The president of the National Freedom Movement (NSP), Miroslav Parović, presented the thesis that Nemanja Šarović, who is also the leader of the "Love, Faith, Hope" movement, due to, as he said, "his characteristics, political experience, but also his strong popularity among the student population, fits the photo-robot of the ideal candidate for the next presidential elections in Serbia", someone who could defeat the future progressive favorite.
According to Parović, Šarović is someone who could attract the so-called "national" electorate, disillusioned radicals of whom he was once an official, but also courtiers, supporters of Zavetnik and others, while in the meantime, due to all the latest actions to expose the nature of the progressive regime and "the courage to get to grips with the ćaci", he became the representative of a new, "liberated Serbia".
"Nemanja is someone who can attract 'civic-oriented' voters to vote for him in the second round, and in any case, he has the best chance of competing with 'Vučić's candidate,'" said Parović in the show "Bez pardona" on KTV television, for which Šarović works as a "journalist".
He added that Serbia needs a man with experience in leading large systems who is capable of assembling a broad team, to take over the country "after the ruins that remain after this whole process."
Šarović: Now we need to attack the regime
When asked by "Vremen" to comment on this call for candidacy, Šarović said that he did not see it, that he does not even watch his shows on YouTube, let alone others, so he had to call Parović to ask what it was about. He told him they got it on KTV for the title from a conversation with him.
"I can tell you most assuredly, I'm traveling a lot now, whether it's for protests or I'm visiting Serbia for some other reason. And, as far as I know, the next presidential election is only in 2027, so dealing with it now is pointless and counterproductive. Now it's important to attack this regime as soon as possible and as hard as possible," says the former radical.
A novel of the train of thought of a progressive
Šarović gained great popularity because he went to meetings of progressives and talked to ordinary people who support Vučić, so his conversations were shared like wildfire on the Internet. It turned out that people often do not know why they were brought somewhere, nor are they really sure that they support SNS, and some of them even changed their minds during the interview.
These conversations can also be interpreted as a kind of "thought flow novel", a form of speech in which the interlocutor says everything that comes to mind, without thinking first. Thus, through the conversation with Šarović, many progressives would think aloud about their actions for the first time.
Attacks on Šarović at progressive rallies and in "Ćaciland" also became viral.
