The convicted criminal, who is known to the public under the nickname Sandokan, defended members of the regime when students gathered at Slavia on May 19th. This Šapčanin, who was seen several times in Chacilenda and in other places where paramilitary batin formations were needed, he is now recorded threatening a student and hitting him on the head, according to numerous users of social networks.
Milan Ostojić Sandokan was noticed by KRIK several times in the tent settlement near the Assembly, performing the job of guard and intimidating passers-by. KRIK published photos in which Ostojić was in a tent with SNS deputy Uglješa Mrdić, known for Mrdić's laws, because of which Serbia has big problems with the European Union.
KRIK wrote about him as the head of the "Sabaka group", who spent almost ten years in prison for ordering a murder. Ostojić was tried as the leader of one of the more brutal criminal gangs, which was charged with at least five murders, as well as heroin trafficking, money laundering and robbery. The group was active from 2006 to 2009, when it was broken up, and Ostojić and the others were arrested and charged, KRIK's database adds. The Ćaciji, the guardians of the party.
By excavator in Šabac
Sandokan's name was also mentioned during the riots that broke out in Šabac, writes Nova.rs. after citizens blocked the bridge in 2021 as a sign of environmental protests. The regime then sent organized beaters and participated in beating citizens with sticks and hammers. Supporters of SNS went with an excavator and boxers against people who protested against lithium mining in Serbia.
Among them were people who are considered close to Sandokan, the citizens claimed.
Prisons and verdicts
In February 2015, Ostojić was sentenced to 20 years in prison for two murders, heroin trafficking and criminal association. The Court of Appeal, however, reduced his sentence and sentenced him to 10 years in prison for ordering one liquidation. He was acquitted of other crimes. He did not complete his sentence as he was released on parole in March 2018.
Even before this verdict, Ostojić was sentenced several times: in 1997 to three years and three months for aggravated theft; In 2007, he was sentenced to ten months in prison for violent behavior, and he was also fined for traffic accidents.
"Sky" messages also show that Ostojić was in contact with a convicted drug lord during 2020 Darko Sarić and that at the time when Šarić was in custody. As can be concluded from the messages, at that time Ostojić was seeing two influential police officers - the head of the Criminal Intelligence Service of the MUP, Danilo Stojanović and his deputy, Milutin Radovanović - who were later convicted in the first instance for helping Sarić's group.
His name was also mentioned in media articles in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Back in 2012, the portal "Slobodna Bosna" published an article about the murder of Sarajevo criminal Ramiz Delalić Ćela, stating that the details of the liquidation were allegedly arranged in Belgrade between several persons from the criminal milieu.
According to those allegations, after Delalić's murder, Naser Keljmendi and Muhamed Ali Gashi allegedly sent 200.000 euros to Milan Ostojić Sandokan, who, as the portal claimed, forwarded part of the money to the immediate perpetrator of the murder, while keeping the rest as an intermediary. Those claims have never received a judicial epilogue in Serbia.
