Some have appeared in Serbia pardons which officially are not, but in some other ways, legal of course, exonerate the suspect.
The first is the official one, given by President Aleksandar Vučić - now he pardoned Milica Stojanović, who hit a student with a car in January during a protest in Belgrade, and shortly before that, four activists of the Serbian Progressive Party who were tried for dislocating a student's jaw in Novi Sad at the end of January, and at the end of January he issued a decision on 13 pardons.
Another type
Others are when someone who is proven guilty is forgiven, such as for example Goran Vasić, acting director of the Republic Institute for the Protection of Cultural Monuments, who is suspected of falsifying the document by which the status of a cultural monument was revoked for the General Staff building in Belgrade.
On May 13, he was taken to the Prosecutor's Office for Organized Crime (TOK), where the next day he confessed to the crime he was charged with and presented his defense, and TOK launched an investigation.
Then the Prosecution requested that he be remanded in custody, Vasić presented his defense, and the High Court rejected the Prosecution's request, ordering him to be barred from approaching witnesses. What Goran Vasić used to defend himself, of course, is unknown.
Since that verdict, and considering that most of the employees of the Republic Institute are among the witnesses of the investigation, Goran Vasić has not appeared at work. However, he continued to be the acting director of the Republic Institute for the Protection of Cultural Monuments - the Ministry of Culture did not mind that he was under investigation and that he did not come to work, so it did not announce a vacancy for a director.
According to the document published by "Danas", the prosecutor suspected that Vasić was on the run before his arrest. In that document, it is also written that Vasić, in his defense, said that he took documents from the Institute without recording them, that he carried them "on his hands" instead of through official channels, and that he kept part of the documentation in his apartment. He stated that he is "just the way he is".
According to N1's unofficial information, the restraining order against witnesses was lifted in the meantime, so Goran Vasić showed up at work on August 6. The day before that, employees submitted a request to the Ministry of Culture for his dismissal.
He acted as if nothing had happened, called a meeting and explained to the employees that everything he did was in the interest of the state. It is possible that the state forgave him and ignored his confession of guilt precisely because of this.
This return of his coincides with the information that the employees of the Republic Institute for the Protection of Cultural Monuments are preparing a document with which they will request that The Government of Serbia restores the status of a cultural asset to the Belgrade Fair.
The third type
The third type of abolition is when someone for whom there is evidence that he has gone astray, that evidence is ignored and he is given a higher position.
For example, Aleksandar Ivanović, who at the beginning of July became the director of the City Institute for the Protection of Cultural Monuments from acting director. It was a few days before the publication of a document proving that Ivanovic, in the same illegal way as Vasić, proposed removing the protection of the General Staff.
The aforementioned evidence was published on the "Vremena" portal on July 8, and according to our information, it was immediately included in the investigation.
Aleksandar Ivanovic was not mentioned in connection with the investigation, although he did the same as Vasic. He was just quietly appointed to a higher position to guard all the affairs that the government declared to be in the interest of the state, and not to, by any chance, tell something that should not be known in the eventual investigation.
One of those tasks is the document for restoring the status of a cultural property to the Belgrade Fair, which, as we wrote, is also being prepared by the employees of the City Institute for the Protection of Cultural Monuments.
