Radio and Television of Serbia publicly apologizes because in "Dnevnik 2" on Tuesday, September 22, during the conversation with Aleksandar Vučić from New York, the connection broke. Almost at the same time, the Serbian Progressive Party accused the public service of censorship of the President of Serbia, so in the next edition of "Dnevnik" of RTS, which was broadcast at 10:00 p.m., the entire interview with Vučić was published.
Viewers of the central "Dnevnik" were deprived of the remarks of the President of the Republic about students who would rape him.
"Once again, we apologize that during the interview for the central 'Dnevnik' there were technical disturbances. In this 'Dnevnik' we are broadcasting the interview of President Vučić in its entirety," read the presenter of this news show.
In the published interview, Vučić also talked about international relations, meetings during his stay in New York, as well as the expected meeting between US President Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping.
SNS: Who ordered the censorship of the president?
The Serbian Progressive Party accused RTS of deliberately interrupting the coverage of Aleksandar Vučić from New York and demanded that the public service reveal who ordered the censorship of the president.
However, RTS tried to stay on for another three minutes after the problems with the signal started, and a little later it broadcast Vučić's statement on the very topic that SNS claims was censored.
The inclusion of the President of Serbia from New York in Dnevnik 2 of Radio and Television of Serbia started at 19:35 and ended at 19:44. Problems with the quality of the connection appeared at 19:41, that is, six minutes after the start of the conversation.
Instead of terminating the technically faulty connection and returning the program to the studio, RTS persistently tried to keep the president on the air for approximately three more minutes.
Nevertheless, SNS accused the public service that "it was and remains the extended arm of attempts at a colored revolution in Serbia."
SNS requested that RTS announce without delay who "ordered" the interruption of the president's speech and who made the decision not to hear his accusations against the student electoral list.
