REC determined the final number of voters in the elections
The Republic Election Commission (REC) made a decision today on determining the final number of voters in Serbia

It was decided that two options would be available to voters, so that they could choose a screen behind which they feel safer and more comfortable.
Republic Election Commission (REK) on Monday, it adopted a proposal according to which the polling stations two types of screens will be installed - the existing cardboard screens and new screens in the form of booths, and voters will be able to decide for themselves which one they will vote behind.
RIK President Vladimir Dimitrijević said that the decision was changed after a discussion during which different and inconsistent views of the Commission members were presented, RTS reported.
According to Dimitrijević, the idea is for the decision to enter into force immediately after publication.
As the reason for setting up both types of screens, he cited the doubts that have arisen in connection with the reliability, functionality and the possibility of guaranteeing the secrecy of voting in new solutions.
That's why it was decided to make both options available to voters, so that they could choose a screen behind which they feel safer and more comfortable.
Speaking about this solution, Dimitrijević stated that the proposal according to which both types of screens will be available was additionally improved and developed in cooperation with expert services.
He assessed that such a model could represent a transitional solution towards the complete introduction of new screens in the form of cabins.
He reminded that the recommendations of the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR) also refer to the change of screens at polling stations in Serbia, and that this recommendation was repeated after the last local elections.
