"Do you accept the decisions of the unelected foreigner Christian Šmit and the unconstitutional judgments of the BiH Court pronounced against the President of Republika Srpska, as well as the decision of the CEC to revoke the mandate of the President of Srpska Milorad Dodik", it will read referendum question which will be before voters in the Republic of Srpska on October 25.
National Assembly Republika Srpska (NSRS) late on Friday (August 22) adopted the decision to hold a referendum on October 25 regarding the Court's verdict Of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) Milorad Dodik and the decision of the Central Election Commission of BiH (CEC) to strip him of his presidential mandate.
Fifty deputies of the ruling majority parties, led by Dodik's Alliance of Independent Social Democrats (SNSD), voted for this decision, while deputies of the opposition parties - the Serbian Democratic Party (SDS), the Party of Democratic Progress (PDP), the List for Justice and Order, and the People's Front boycotted the vote.
12 deputies did not attend the vote, including members of the Movement for the State Club, the Party of Democratic Action and Bh. green, whose headquarters are in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The ruling coalition MPs also adopted conclusions rejecting the possibility of holding early elections for the President of the RS after the CEC of Bosnia and Herzegovina stripped Dodik of his presidential mandate due to the final verdict of the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The adopted conclusions require all political factors in the RS, political parties and individuals not to apply for early elections for the President of the Republic, and all authorities at all levels in this entity in BiH not to undertake any actions related to the implementation of those elections.
The ruling majority also rejected the verdict of the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina handed down to Dodik, by which he was sentenced to one year in prison and six years of prohibition from holding public office for not implementing the decisions of the high international representative in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Parliament also adopted the Law on Amendments to the Law on Referendum and Citizens' Initiative as a matter of urgency.
Earlier on the same day, the National Assembly of the RS adopted the resignation of the Prime Minister of the RS, Radovan Višković.
