An intensive disinformation campaign is being waged against the "Jadar" project, in which false news and unfounded claims that the Project will have destructive, negative impacts on the environment and people's health are maliciously spread.

Portal Time.com  he announced on August 4 statement of director Goran Marković in which he made incorrect and general statements related to the "Jadar" Project. With tendentious statements, director Marković declares: "Exclusive ako ne we will be covered bugravel, which uz knobchemicals maturity the womb countries i landscapeZE fertile i wooded Of Serbia pretend u the desert, me we have Budugender. If People set discounts it was unscrupulous interests capital i heremy corrupt vlaI will - done smo... "

Scientific research shows that the "Jadar" Project can be implemented safely while respecting the highest domestic and international standards of environmental protection.

Draft environmental impact assessment studies for Project "Jadar" conducted by more than 100 domestic and international independent experts, including 40 university professors from more than ten faculties, analyze in detail the initial state of the environment and evaluate technical solutions and their impact on the environment environment and human health. Based on this, the studies listed all known potential risks and proposed appropriate mitigation solutions, thus demonstrating that the project can be implemented responsibly and safely.

The method of underground mining of lithium is neither new nor unproven and does not differ much from the methods of underground mining of other minerals in which Rio Tinto has many years of experience.

The jadarite concentrate processing technology was developed and thoroughly tested at Rio Tinto's Development and Technical Center in Melbourne, Australia.

The Jadar project will not release sulfuric acid into the air, soil, or water. During the ore processing process envisaged by the Jadar Project, sulfuric acid is used in the ore dissolution process to obtain a liquid rich in lithium and boron. The process takes place in closed tanks where the ore is dissolved with the addition of concentrated sulfuric acid and water. It is important to note that this process takes place at a low temperature (90 °C) far below the boiling point of sulfuric acid.

Before the opening of the mine, the "Jadar" Project must go through the entire process stipulated by the laws of the Republic of Serbia, which includes an inclusive public discussion, which confirms that it can and must be realized only with absolute respect for the laws of the Republic of Serbia and the highest standards of the European Union.

"Jadar" would be an underground mine, which means that all agricultural areas above the ore body will still be available for cultivation. Thanks to the industrial gas control system, as well as measures for dust suppression, water and soil protection, it has been scientifically determined that agriculture in the vicinity of the complex will be able to continue.

The "Jadar" project will not affect the water supply of the local population in any way. An important feature of the "Jadar" Project is that the underground exploitation will be carried out at a depth of approximately 370 to 650 meters - in an area that is hydrogeologically isolated from water sources that are tapped by local dug wells by watertight layers. Years of research and collected data show that deep groundwater and shallow alluvial outcrops are hydrogeologically isolated. All waste water from the mine would be treated using proven techniques to the level of water quality in the Jadar River.

An intensive disinformation campaign is being waged against the "Jadar" project, in which false news and unfounded claims that the Project will have destructive, negative impacts on the environment and human health are maliciously spread. Such irresponsible and continuous accusations without any evidence were made with the aim of misleading the public and causing unwarranted concern among citizens. The scientific facts, verified by independent experts and presented in environmental impact assessment studies, completely refute these false claims.

Rio Tinto supports expert debate based on scientifically established facts. We take the spread of false information and unfounded accusations seriously and will use all available legal means to protect the company's reputation.

Vučić's billboards and reality

There is, literally, no difference between the one who claims it is day in the middle of the night, or the one who claims to be a giraffe, from the claims we read on billboards: that Vučić is working to unify Serbs and that Serbia is doing better and better day by day.

The pre-election arrests due to the alleged "overthrow of the state" testify to the regime's panic. The bad news for them is - they can't arrest the whole people who decided to defend themselves from progressive beatings and election theft
