At the invitation of the Start-change initiative, almost two thousand citizens gathered in Belgrade last night in front of the RTS building, estimates the organization Archive of Public Meetings. Citizens protested about the way in which the Public Service reports on intentions to mine lithium in Serbia.
The Archive of Public Meetings organization announced that between 1.800 and 2.000 citizens attended the "Kreni-Promeni" protest due to the Serbian Radio Television's reporting on lithium mining plans in Serbia, which is the third largest protest in Belgrade since the beginning of the year.
As they state, this information was obtained by counting the people present on a series of photographs of various parts of the space occupied by the protesters, which were recorded by the Archive of Public Meetings last night between 19.30:19.40 and XNUMX:XNUMX. A significant number of environmental activists from other cities came to the protest.
"This was the third most numerous protest held in Belgrade since the beginning of this year, after the commemoration of Oliver Ivanovic on January 16 and the protest in front of the Constitutional Court on January 26," said the Archive.
Earlier, Savo Manojlović, the director of the campaign "Kreni-promeni" said that the Government of Serbia is preparing to sign a memorandum with the European Commission on lithium, and that "Kreni-promeni" suggested that it be discussed in the Parliament.
"RTS had to schedule a public debate and after that we could see what we had to do," said Savo Manojhlović.

"Two and a half years ago, we found ourselves in this place when a commercial was released that RTS did not want to release. After that we started blockades. I have heard a thousand stories about how no one will stop this government, how no one will stop them from digging, since then two and a half years have passed. There are five times more of you," said Manojlović.
"One day we will tell our children and grandchildren that RTS, the Public Service, was silent, that people who brought people from Mala Krsna to vote for them spoke about democracy," he added.
After the organizer's speech, the column of citizens headed towards the General Staff building.
