Assembly Kosova it was not constituted even on Saturday (July 19), after the 49th attempt. The deadline set by the Constitutional Court as the day when the institutions should be chosen expires on July 26, reports the Kossev portal.
This media reports that the representatives of the Albanian opposition parties are accusing the Prime Minister of Kosovo Aljbina Kurti to deliberately sabotage the formation of the parliament.
Kurti attended the beginning of today's session, and he had a flag in front of him Albania. The new session of the parliament is scheduled for Monday at 11 am.
Accusations directed at Kurti and Self-Determination
The president of the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo, Ramush Haradinaj, called Kurti a fraud who wants to harm Kosovo, reports FoNet.
"He holds the solution in his hands. It is clear that he does not want a deal. Look at the situation with electricity, the price increase that awaits us in the winter, energy trade. All this that is happening in the Parliament serves to hide the theft and avoid responsibility before the judiciary," said Haradinaj.
Similar accusations were made by Ljahi Brahimaj, also from the Alliance for the Future. He claims that Kurti's Self-Determination has an agreement in principle with Srpska list and the Social Democratic initiative of Nismo, Fatmir Ljimaj.
"After every unsuccessful session, Self-Determination, Nisma and Srpska Lista leave the hall together, while the former opposition remains," noted Brahimaj.
Commenting on the possible candidacy of Fatmir Limaj for the president of the assembly and the announced meeting with Kurti, Brahimaj said that the Alliance will not vote for his election.
"We had an agreement with him before the election, but now he has an agreement with Kurti. We made our proposals," he said.
Kosovo President Vjosa Osmani said on Friday that she will appeal to the Constitutional Court if the impasse is not resolved by the end of the weekend.
Her cabinet announced that the Constitutional Court issued a verdict last month that mandates that the Assembly must be constituted within 30 days, ie by July 26, 2025.
Even new tactics don't help.
Parliamentary elections in Kosovo were held on February 9, 2025.
In March, the final results of the vote were confirmed, but after five months, the Kosovo Assembly is still without a president and vice president, and Kosovo is without a new government, the Kossev portal reminds.
The resolution of the situation is hindered by the opposition, which does not want to vote for Aljbuljena Hadžija, the candidate insisted on by Self-Determination, as the President of the Assembly.
Even after six attempts, this candidate did not get the necessary votes in open voting, which is why Self-Determination switched to secret voting tactics, but that doesn't help either.
Since the third session, there has been a deadlock due to Hadji, who does not receive enough votes. The sessions started on April 15, and since then they have been interrupted and postponed 49 times, mostly for 48 hours each.
The opposition accuses Self-Determination of the blockade and crisis of institutions, a deadlock, and of demanding a secret vote in order to get the votes of the Serbian List for Hadžija.
LDK proposes the formation of a transitional unified government, PDK demands a change of candidate for the President of the Assembly, while AAK announces that it will vote for the person who will unite all parties.
