Concerned citizens gathered around ProGlas invite all parliamentary parties who believe that the 2023 elections were irregular to join us on March 9 at 10 a.m. in the premises of the Envoy Center in formulating an Agreement on the conditions for fair, free and fair elections, it was announced from of these initiatives, reports N1.
As they add, at 12 o'clock, a press conference will be held at which this document will be presented to the wider public, which will be offered for signature to other interested parties and groups of citizens in the coming days.
"There is no sovereign state without respect for the sovereignty of its own citizens, whose rights are significantly threatened by the irregularities of the previous elections." In anticipation of the Constitutional Court's pronouncement on the regularity of the elections, despite the findings of domestic and international institutions, the citizens of Serbia find themselves between completely opposing statements: that these were irregular, that is, that they were the fairest elections so far. "The call to fight (and win) together for honest, free and fair elections, with the assumption of democratic mechanisms and procedures, has no party sign, represents a civilizational norm and is for the benefit of the entire society," the announcement states.
Accession to this Agreement on March 9, as they state, is in the shadow of remembering a long, more tragic March 9, when two young lives were lost in the maelstrom of political divisions, intolerance and hatred.
"Unfortunately, the unacceptable and unreasoned messages and hate speech that has appeared in the political life of Serbia in recent days and weeks irresponsibly incites the division "to the point of extermination" between patriots and traitors, almost leading us into the lobby of a stylized civil war. What's next? Experience teaches us that no one has the right to that! That is why ProGlas appeals for elementary honesty and responsibility in political behavior. To begin with, it is enough to accept that dissenters are not the same as enemies - simply, only citizens of Serbia! "We must not allow certain experiences to repeat themselves," the statement said.
