Court of Appeal in Novi Sad changed the decision of the High Court in Novi Sad from December 24, 2025 and thus confirmed the indictment of the High Public Prosecutor in Novi Sad in relation to the defendant Jelena Tanasković, Goran Vesić, Anita Dimoski, Milan Spremić, Marina Gavrilović and Dejan Todorović.
"The Court of Appeal in Novi Sad, at the panel session held on June 15, 2026, accepted the appeal of the High Public Prosecutor in Novi Sad and modified the decision of the High Court in Novi Sad Kv 964/25 dated December 24, 2025, in such a way that in relation to the defendants Jelena Tanasković, Goran Vesić, Anita Dimoski, Milan Spremić, Marina Gavrilović and Dejan Todorović, confirmed the indictment of the High Public Prosecutor in Novi Sad No. 112/2025, while the appeals of the defendants Nebojsa Šurlan, Slobodan Naumović, Ljiljana Milić, Jasna Stojiljković Milić, Zorica Slavković Marjanović and Dušan Janković were rejected.
In other words, this decision removes the obstacle of scheduling a trial in the case of a canopy fall - everyone who was included in the first version of this indictment will be tried.
Let us remind you that the professor of the Faculty of Law in Novi Sad, Bojan Pajtić, announced on July 2nd on the X social network that the decision had been made, but that the defense attorneys of the defendants subsequently, which is not according to the law, requested the exemption of certain members of the court panel.
Earlier, the High Court in Novi Sad "overthrew" the part of the indictment that refers to the former Minister of Transport Goran Vesić, the former director of "Railway Infrastructure" Jelena Tanasković and some other defendants. The Higher Public Prosecutor's Office in Novi Sad appealed against that decision.
More than 20 months have passed since the canopy in Novi Sad fell on people. Three proceedings are ongoing, and only the indictment from Novi Sad has been partially confirmed.
