In the area around the lake Gas pipelines, in the municipality of Zubin Potok, started this morning demolition cottage at the request of the Public Water Management Company "Ibar-Lepenac".
The executive director of that company, Faruk Mujka, told Pristina media that on July 3, the owners of the cottages were ordered to remove things and leave the buildings, which, according to him, were illegally built on land owned by "Ibar-Lepenc".
"They didn't do that, which is why we informed the Inspectorate of the Ministry of Environmental Protection, which went to the field today to carry out its responsibilities. First, all things will be removed from the houses, and then the buildings will be demolished," said Mujka.
The action is assisted by the Police of Kosovo, confirmed the deputy director of the police for the North region, Veton Elšani.
One of the owners of the buildings confirmed for KoSSev that they gave him and his family, as well as the other owners who were in their cottages at that moment, half an hour to leave the buildings. Meanwhile, the road leading to the cottages is blocked.
One of the owners of the cottage, who was in the building this morning with his wife and three minor children, told KoSSev that the workers of "Ibar-Lepenac" came around 7:15.
"They woke us up and said we had half an hour to leave the cottage," he said.
According to him, other owners who were found by the workers in the cottages were treated in the same way.
As KoSSev learns from the scene, the approach to the location is blocked, and the competent services are present on the ground and are carrying out the action.
We are talking about 11 cottages whose owners were served requests from the Public Enterprise "Ibar-Lepenac" at the beginning of July to vacate, as stated in the documents, "usurped property" within 15 days.
At the time, the owners claimed for KoSSev that they built the facilities based on a 99-year contract with "Srbijašumen" and that without a court decision there is no legal basis for their demolition, while "Ibar-Lepenac" states that the cottages were built on land belonging to this public company, without the necessary permits.
Offices for Kosovo and Metohija: Political move, the goal is to put pressure on the Serbian community
The Office for Kosovo and Metohija (KiM) assessed the demolition of cottages on Lake Gazivode as an illegal and unilateral act, carried out without an appropriate court decision. The announcement states that this is a politically motivated move by Pristina, the aim of which is to exert pressure on the Serbian community and destabilize the situation in the north of the Province.
As pointed out in the response, the owners of the property were informed about the procedure exclusively through paper notices left on the buildings, while they were denied official decisions of the competent judicial authorities. The Office reminds that the municipality of Zubin Potok contested the demolition permit, and that the injured citizens have in the meantime initiated legal mechanisms to protect their property.
The Office for Kosovo and Metohija sent an appeal to international representatives to respond to the trampling of procedural norms and actively participate in the protection of the property and civil rights of the Serbian people in Kosovo and Metohija.
