Student plenum Faculty of Medicine in the blockade (MFUB) announced that due to the support of students from the position of head of the second clinical department of the Clinic for Pulmonology University Clinical Center of Serbia (UKCS) replaced by prof. Dr. Tatjana Adžić Vukičević.
According to the students in the blockade of the Faculty of Medicine, the change took place on June 30.
"The doctor was transferred to a humiliating position, where mainly residents and young doctors work, not regular professors of our faculty," the students' statement reads.
According to the students, Adžić Vukičević has been the head of the second clinical department of the Pulmonology Clinic since 2011 and, as they say, since that moment she has significantly improved the department where patients with tuberculosis and malignant lung tumors are treated.
"The reason for the dismissal itself is that the professor supported the student movement from day one and has been with us on the street ever since. Professor Adžić Vukičević has repeatedly refused to sign her support for President Aleksandar Vučić and the Serbian Progressive Party, and since then she has been suffering systemic persecution and humiliation from her superiors, and above all Jelena Drulović," states the plenary session of the Faculty of Medicine.
They also point out that the director of UKCS, Jelena Drulović, is the direct employer of this shift.
"Before Professor Adžić Vukičević, Dr. Drulović replaced many other politically unsuitable heads, including Professor Dugalić, but also many others that the public did not know about. Also, Dr. Drulović is known for her shameful outbursts and announcements after the use of a sound cannon and the entry of unauthorized physical persons into the intensive care unit of the UKCS Emergency Center," the students' statement reads.

Who is Tatjana Adžić Vukičević?
Tatjana Adžić Vukičević first came into the public spotlight in December 2020, when she was appointed director of the Kovid Hospital in Batajnica, writes N1.
Her sacrifice while she was in that position was indisputable even for the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, who in 2021 awarded her the Order of the Star of Karađorđe, second degree.
When she came to the head of that hospital, and at a time when Serbia had a large number of patients with covid, Dr. Adžić Vukičević immediately complained that there were not enough doctors and nurses.
"Doctors from the Clinical Center of Serbia, whom I took with me, arrived, a hundred, a hundred and something," she once told Nova.rs.
"The hospital started working and charging at an incredibly fast pace. At a given moment, the spaceship needs to be started, first give it batteries, so that it can work, not to mention electricity and other flywheels," she explained at the time.
During the coronavirus pandemic, she was also written about on the website of the Association of Veterans of Special Police Units.
"Doctor Tatjana, who has been on the red war line since she was appointed head of the hospital in Batajnica, stoically fought against the virus, about which even a year later, little is known. She was with the patients and their families when they were facing the most difficult moments of their lives, celebrated the individual's victory over the virus as her own, and then returned to her home and fought on other fronts, in the daily battles fought by every family," the association's announcement reads.
