After the professor at today's session of the Teaching and Research Council Slavisa Orlovic signed resigned on June 8, it was revealed that Professor Orlović sued his former colleague Zoran Stojiljković.
The information was confirmed by Stojiljković himself for the "Vremena" portal.
"Slaviša Orlović did sue me, but I wouldn't want to talk about it any further because whatever I say now, it can be understood as if I want to influence the court's decision," he said.
Stojiljković earlier today was in favor N1 said that the lawsuit was filed based on his allegations published on portals and in newspapers, that the Council's decision to remove Orlović from the post of vice-dean, at the time when Stojiljković was the president of the Faculty Council, in 2014, was a kind of compromise.
He explains that there were no procedures related to sexual abuse at the FPN at the time, and that the student's complaint against Orlović was later withdrawn.
"I don't think it has any basis, because I always tried to protect his interest, without justifying a practice that I don't stand behind... The essence of the lawsuit, I think, is that I keep quiet because it was threatened, that is, the punishment that is demanded five months in prison, or one year on probation - if I don't repeat the crime", said Zoran Stojiljković.
He added that the lawsuit is based on the fact that he "signed the decision in which the explanation of the decision of the Faculty Council was formulated in a sentence because of the damaged relations in the Faculty Administration", so that any continuation of the story about this calls into question the integrity of Slavisa Orlović.
Resignation of Professor Orlović
By the way, Slaviša Orlović announced today on his account on the X network that he has returned the dean's mandate and signed the resignation that he gave on June 8 and stated that he is submitting his resignation to the Teaching and Research Council of the FPN, returning the mandate to those from whom he received it.
In the document he published, which was addressed to the Teaching and Research Council of the FPN and the Council of the FPN, he submitted his resignation "aware that long-term disputes and interpretations, as well as possible court proceedings related to the selection of the dean, would block the normal functioning of the faculty, putting the faculty on first place, acting responsibly, worthy of the trust that his colleagues showed him as a candidate for dean".
By order of the Higher Prosecutor's Office, the police are investigating the circumstances that led to the illegal election of Dean Slaviša Orlović.
Allegations of sexual harassment
The election of Professor Orlović was opposed by a group of current and former female students due to a report of sexual harassment from 2014.
Orlović came into the spotlight in 2014 after news broke that a master's student had accused him of sexual harassment.
Some media wrote that she claimed that it happened in his office, and after that the issue of his removal from the position of vice dean was raised.
Orlović was subsequently removed from that position, but this was allegedly not stated as a formal reason.
Later, CINS revealed that new reports of sexual harassment had been filed against Slavisa Orlović, which was confirmed by Professor Katarina Lončarević, who is also one of the three trustees at the faculty.
