Organization Opre Roma Serbia she reacted to the fact that MP Branimir Nestorović constitutive session He called the assemblies of his colleagues from the opposition "gypsies", and their behavior "gypsy".
That organization called Nestorovic a "false patriot" and accused him of violating the Constitution as soon as he took the oath, because he swore to defend human and minority rights and civil liberties.
"A well-known doctor, and now a member of parliament, is obliged to act in the public interest of the citizens to whom he is responsible for his work, as well as the Roma, who are equal citizens of this society," said the statement of Opra Roma.
They emphasized that with such behavior Nestorović shows that he is not a representative of all citizens, but that with his discriminatory behavior he incites hatred, racism and intolerance towards the Roma community and calls into question his further actions in the work of the Assembly.
Opre Roma Serbia has announced that it will urgently file a complaint with the Ethics Commission of the National Assembly for presenting a value judgment colored by racism and acting contrary to the Code of Conduct, insulting the human dignity of the entire Roma community.
"We expect the Commission to act in accordance with the Code and adopt the strictest measures prescribed by the Code against such a member of parliament, who already on the first day showed that he was unworthy of the newly assigned position by violating the Constitution and collapsing the institution of the National Assembly," stated Opra Roma. They add that they expect the President of the Assembly to make a statement on the case at the first following session and determine the preservation of the integrity of the Assembly, the protection of the rights of citizens and the Constitution of Serbia.
Anti-vaxxer and racist
While opposition MPs were expressing their displeasure at the Assembly's constitutive session held on Tuesday, someone with a mobile phone camera turned on approached the newly minted MP Branimir Nestorovic and asked him: "Nestor, what do you think about this?"
The alien worshiper, anti-vaxxer and all that goes with it replied, "Gypsies!"
Branimir Nestorović is currently protected by parliamentary immunity, otherwise he would be threatened with criminal charges for inciting national and religious hatred.
