House arrest for the dean of the Faculty of Medicine in Novi Sad
Students in the blockade of the Faculty of Medicine in Novi Sad announced that the arrested dean of that faculty was placed under house arrest
The Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Serbia - The Department for Emergency Situations sent a warning to citizens due to a strong storm in Belgrade. The alarm, however, reached many Belgraders after the storm had already roared
"Warning of a storm with rain, hail and strong wind. It is recommended to follow the information of the competent authorities. For more information, visit warning.mup.gov.rs". A message with this content was sent to the citizens of Serbia.
When they clicked on the website of the MUP, they would receive a warning, an alarm about an extraordinary event - a storm in Belgrade, which was accompanied by rain, hail and strong gusts of wind.
The instructions for the citizens were that there is a danger to the safety of people and animals. It is recommended that if they are outdoors, they seek shelter in a solid building and protect their property.
Why was the alarm late?
Due to a severe storm with rain, hail and strong wind, the RHMZ of Serbia launched a system for transmitting SMS emergency information to citizens.
The red weather alert has been activated in Banat, Šumadija, Pomoravlje, western and eastern Serbia, and the red weather alert is in effect due to thunderstorms.
However, it is not clear why the message from the Ministry of Interior reached the people on Friday at most from 16:06 to 16:15, when the RHMZ issued a red alert for Belgrade at 11:30 on the same day.
For specific locations, emergency warnings will be issued one to two hours in advance - reads the notice on the RHMZ website.
