Protest of support to students attacked by activists Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) at the end of January of this year "Batinasi are not heroes - we don't give students" was held in front of the SNS premises in Novi Sad and lasted almost three hours.
Organized by the "Free University" Academic Network, the protest was organized after the statement of Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić and SNS President Miloš Vučević, that the four people who beat the students and one female student who broke her jaw in three places were "heroes".

In January, student Ana was beaten with baseball bats by a group of people who left the SNS premises, while she was sticking stickers calling for a large protest on February 1 in Novi Sad. The students did not damage the premises of SNS, but only stuck stickers on the trash cans.
That event greatly disturbed the public, as a result of which Miloš Vučević resigned as Prime Minister of Serbia, and Milan Đurić resigned as Mayor of Novi Sad.
The gathered first left and went to the police department in Pap Pavla Street, where at 18:9 the protest about the new femicide in Novi Sad started, organized by the group "Women for Change". That activist group warns that XNUMX cases of femicide were recorded this year alone.
"We saw a disturbing video of a member of the Gendarmerie mistreating his ex-partner. Female students were beaten and trampled on the streets. We know their names. Diana Hrka, the mother of the young man who died under the canopy, had to leave the country because women who fight for justice in Serbia are persecuted instead of being protected," said the gathering.
