Blacksmith will help Serbia with "alignment with sanctions which were recently introduced in connection with the energy sector," states the document of the US Department of Justice, writes Filip Rudić for The new economy.
Serbia is represented in this agreement by the cabinet of President Aleksandar Vučić and Ministry of Finance.
Ivica Kojić, chief of staff of the President of Serbia, is mentioned as the official through whom Blacksmith was hired, according to the document.
"Blexamite's engagement with the Republic of Serbia was agreed orally. A formal written agreement should be signed in the near future," the document reads.
There is no information on whether such an agreement was signed. New Economy journalists sent questions to the Cabinet of the President of Serbia and the Ministry of Finance, but the answer did not arrive by the time this news was published.
The document also states that Blacksmith will "engage in political activities" in order to help Serbia comply with the sanctions, writes NE.
