After the announcement that Aleksandar Vučić is coming to Niš on Saturday, September 5, students announced a protest. A day later, according to the students, the police called some of them for an interview.
"Colleagues did not give answers to the questions posed maliciously by the chief and other officers of the Police Department. We expect that the Police Department will continue to invite other students and citizens as well. Therefore, we appeal to everyone who is contacted by the police to immediately inform their colleagues or fellow citizens and, without prior consultation, not to make statements or provide any information regarding tomorrow's gathering," the students say.
The students believe that there is a possibility that if someone does not respond to the summons, they may be taken into custody.
"Therefore, we consider it important that the public be aware of the way in which students and citizens are currently being treated by the police. We call on everyone to be careful, to exchange information with each other and to notify us without delay if they are contacted or called to the Police Department. We will not allow students and citizens to be intimidated and interrogated individually," they emphasized.
The police in Niš do not answer the questions of Southern News about whether and when the students were interviewed, but they sent a statement that gatherings of citizens are expected in the area of the Police Department in Niš.
The students in the blockade of the University of Niš also announced that they found out that the spy software "Pegasus" (Pegasus) was installed, except for the phones of the students who spoke about it at the media conference in Belgrade, and on the phones of students of the Faculty of Law in Niš.
