Novica Antic i Branko Momcilovic Majkan are released, after the panel of the Court of Appeal accepted the appeals of their lawyers, their lawyer announced on the X social network Ivan Ninic.
He added that Ivan Matović was placed under house arrest.
Arrested on the eve of the Vidovdan protest
Six people are on the eve of the Vidovdan protest, arrested in several locations throughout Serbia.
On July 25, the Higher Public Prosecutor's Office in Belgrade filed an indictment against six defendants on suspicion of preparing a violent change of government in the Republic of Serbia from June 21 to 25, 2025, and against two of them for unauthorized possession and carrying of firearms and ammunition.
In the indictment, which was submitted to the High Court in Belgrade for a decision on confirmation, Ivan Matović, Novica Antić, Branko Momčilović, Aleksandar I, Vidan Koljajić and Srđan Gajović are charged with the criminal offense of "preparation of an act against the constitutional system and security of Serbia" from Article 320 in connection with the criminal offense of "calling for a violent change of the constitutional system" from Article 309 of the Criminal Code, writes N1.
Wiretapped conversations
However, recordings of the suspect's eavesdropped conversations, which were presented in a special show on Informer and other television channels close to the regime as evidence that the six arrested planned violence at the Vidovdan protest, as Ninic later announced, were not among the evidence in the criminal proceedings.
Ninic said then that it will be easy to defend them, because there is no evidence against them.
One of the arrested was initially ordered to house arrest. Vidan Kolajić and Aco Ivanović were released at the end of July.
