A severe storm hit the north of Vojvodina, especially the regions of Bačka and Banat. Fields were burning in Bačka Topola due to sparking of power lines, reports Javni servis.
RHMZ issued an urgent warning to precipitation of more than 20 millimeters in a short time, hail and stormy wind. In the next hour, the storm will spread to the south of Vojvodina and the area of Belgrade. Around 4:30 p.m., about 500 square meters of unthreshed barley and oats burned on the farm in Bačka Topola.
The cause of the fire was the sparking of wires on power lines due to strong wind.
In Gunaros, about 800 square meters of unthreshed wheat burned due to a lightning strike. The fire was extinguished.
On the farm in Novi Orahovo, material damage was caused to one building due to a lightning strike on an electricity meter.
Due to the gust of wind, a tree fell on the road in Karađorđevo, and firefighters removed it.
Around 18:00, in Mišićevo, the firefighters removed the fallen tree from the roadway.
According to meteorologists' announcements, during the evening this cloud system will move over western Serbia, Belgrade, Šumadija, Pomoravlje, Bor, Braničevski and Zaječar districts, continuing its movement towards Romania and Bulgaria.
Showers and thunderstorms also affected Belgrade.
