After that Goran Radonjic dismissed from the position of chief Police administration in Novi Sad, according to information from Danas, he will be replaced by Nevenko Marić, who until now was employed in the position of assistant chief of the Criminal Police Administration (UKP). The Serbian public had the opportunity to hear Marić's name several times, he was linked to several affairs, and by the judgment of the Appellate Court in Belgrade, he was convicted of mobbing.
Portal Danas announced that Marić signed the decision on his appointment this morning.
The name of Nevenko Marić has so far been mentioned several times in public, during trials of criminals and investigations published by journalists.
In January 2024, he was convicted by a final verdict of the Appellate Court in Belgrade for mobbing, i.e. abuse at work of retired SBPOK inspector Predrag Simonović, who at the time of the mobbing was working to shed light on the murders of journalists Slavko Ćuruvija and Milan Panić.
Signed Vučko's official note after the murder of Salet Mutavo
KRIK also wrote about Nevenko Marić in its article about gendarme Nenad Vučković, where it was stated that it was Marić who signed the official note in which Vučković states that he destroyed Salet Mutavo's mobile phone, immediately after his murder.
In the proceedings in which Papić was convicted for returning the car to Markz Miljković, a member of Belivuk's Group, Marić testified that he conveyed Goran Papić's orders and information to the police and to Miljković.
Miljković then said the following at the trial:
"I mentioned Inspector Marić before, who in April 2020 took and returned an armored vehicle from me. At that time, Nebojša Stefanović was the Minister of Police, but Marić returned the vehicle to me on the order of Aleksandar Vulin."
In another case, the VJT in Belgrade conducted an investigation against Nevenk Marić on whether he transmitted the illegal decisions of Goran Papić.
According to information confirmed to Insider in 2023, the prosecution of police colonel Nevenko Marić was stopped by a senior prosecutor, with a mandatory instruction. The insider also addressed the High Prosecutor's Office with a request to inform them how and why it was decided to abandon the prosecution of one suspect in the middle of the investigation, but no answer was received.
Nevenko Marić was also one of the main commanders in the search for the missing girl from Bor, Danka Ilić.
The newly elected chief worked for a long time in SBPOK, and later he was appointed assistant to Ninoslav Cmolić, head of UKP.
