Two months after the federal parliamentary elections, the Social Democratic Party (SPD), the Greens and the Liberals agreed on their positions on the priorities of the future government and the allocation of ministries in a 117-page long coalition agreement.

The future German Government will support the accession to the European Union of the six countries of the Balkan region with the fulfillment of the necessary reforms and criteria. Accession negotiations with North Macedonia and Albania should be started, visa liberalization should be established with Kosovo, and negotiations with Serbia and Montenegro should be continued.
The dialogue on the normalization of relations between Kosovo and Serbia leading them to the EU and the effort to establish lasting peace in Bosnia and Herzegovina while preserving territorial integrity and overcoming ethnic discord are supported.
