Nedeljko Elek, one of the closest collaborators Milorad Dodik he was removed from all positions, and he was excluded from membership in Dodik's Alliance of Independent Social Democrats (SNSD).
Elek was the director of the company "Sarajevo-gas" from East Sarajevo and was the president of the Board of Directors of the Olympic Center "Jahorina".
On Sunday evening, Elek was removed from his post at "Sarajevo-gas", and after the Shareholders' Assembly, his removal from the Management Board of the Olympic Center "Jahorina" is expected.
Strongly against the Minister of Police
His dismissal followed on Sunday after Elek publicly criticized Republika Srpska's Minister of Interior Željko Budimir for the raid on Pale during which, according to eyewitnesses and local authorities, dozens of young people were injured in the police intervention.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Srpska, speaking about the raid on the "Enigma" discotheque in Pale, announced that the facility did not have the necessary work permits and that "persons of security interest" were engaged in its security.
Elek reacted harshly and called Budimir "incompetent" and "strong in theory, but weak in practice."
SNSD leader Milorad Dodik supported the work of the MUP and Minister Budimir, stressing that the police will not allow incidents and that the safety of citizens is priceless.
Previously, Elek clashed with the mayor of East Sarajevo and high-ranking SNSD official Ljubiša Ćosić, making a series of accusations against him.
"The living encyclopedia of great robberies of public money"
Opposition MP Nebojša Vukanović, known for his sharp criticism of Dodik and his government, claimed that the background was actually a conflict between Elek and Igor Dodik, the son of the SNSD leader, who, by his father's decision, was also appointed as the party's organizational secretary and is one of the party's list holders in the October elections.
On his blog, Vukanović announced that Dodik, as he claimed citing sources from the SNSD, in a fit of rage ordered an emergency meeting of party bodies and demanded that Nedeljko Elek be removed from all positions.
In a post on the social network, Vukanović wrote about Elek that he is "a living encyclopedia of big robberies of public money, big affairs and rigged deals" and that he knows many secrets.
"If Elek speaks publicly, breaks the omerta, the mafia vow of silence, he would deal such heavy and fatal blows to Milorad Dodik's regime that he would not recover from them until the elections", claimed Vukanović, adding that now the only question is whether Elek "will really end up in prison" or if he will seek refuge "in Serbia, that is, with the Russians and Belarusians, for whom he himself works".
Clash with students in Belgrade
The name Nedeljka Eleka became known to the wider public in Serbia at the end of 2024, during student protest after the tragedy at the railway station in Novi Sad.
During the blockade at the Wolf Monument, Elek got out of the car and entered into a verbal conflict with the students.
Footage posted on social media shows him challenging the crowd, while students urge him to get back in the car and not provoke the protesters.
One of the students stated that Elek drove his car into the crowd and, together with another person, provoked the participants of the protest.
At that time, the media recalled that Elek was a close associate of Milorad Dodik, who often stayed in Belgrade and maintained intensive political contacts with the Serbian state leadership.
