As part of the KFOR peacekeeping mission in Kosovo, there are currently 4.687 soldiers, which is almost 1.000 more than a year ago, writes Kosova sot.
During October, KFOR, led by Turkish commander Ozkan Ulutash, was joined by an additional 134 soldiers from Romania and 200 soldiers from Great Britain.

The NATO mission, which in the same period last year had 3.762 members in Kosovo, explains the increased presence by increased tensions in the north of Kosovo.
The largest number of soldiers is from Italy, the United States of America, Hungary and Turkey. KFOR includes 869 soldiers from Italy, 593 from the USA, 433 from Hungary and 369 from Turkey, reports Kosovo Online.
New deployment of soldiers it followed a violent attack to the Kosovo police on September 24 and heightened tensions in the region, and the goal is to support the presence of KFOR in the north of Kosovo and patrols along the administrative line.
