The Ministry of Interior of the Republic of Serbia issued warning of thunderstorms until the end of the day.
There was a warning of a "storm with hail and gale-force winds", and citizens were warned that this poses a danger to the safety of people and animals, so that they should not travel, and to protect their vehicles and property.
Earlier today, the Republic Hydrometeorological Institute (RHMZ) announced today that it has launched procedures for sending urgent SMS information to citizens, due to the thunderstorm that is expected in parts of Serbia by the end of the day.
Be alert and follow the information of the competent authorities, stated the RHMZ.
The Republic Hydrometeorological Institute warned earlier that in the afternoon in Vojvodina, the formation of a linear thunderstorm system is expected, which will cause showers, thunder, local hail and stormy winds with gusts of more than 60 kilometers per hour.
Later in the evening, the thunderstorm system is expected to move over western Serbia, Belgrade, Šumadija, Pomoravlje, Bor, Braničevski and Zaječar districts further towards Romania and Bulgaria, while in the second part of the night towards Monday, the risk of disasters in the said area will decrease.
