On the day when the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, announced that Serbia had stopped all exports ammunition, from Moscow new accusations are coming at the expense of exports of dedicated industry to Ukraine.
Since recently reported that Serbian defense companies, contrary to the "neutrality" declared by official Belgrade, continue to supply Kiev with ammunition, the press service of the Foreign Intelligence Service of the Russian Federation (SVR) now reports that the Ukrainian army is very grateful to the Serbian arms and ammunition manufacturers for their contribution to maintaining the combat readiness of the Ukrainian armed forces.
"Kiev notes that the companies of the Serbian military-industrial complex, despite increasing pressure on Belgrade from Moscow, are increasing the export of military products to the zone of confrontation between the 'collective West' and Russia. This is largely made possible by the use of indirect supply chains," according to the SVR announcement.
As it is added, ammunition produced in Serbian defense factories, primarily for heavy long-range systems, is sent to NATO countries in the interest of Ukraine in the form of complete sets of assembly parts.
"This allows Kiev to formally receive military products that are no longer Serbian, but are assembled in weapons factories of Western countries. Assembly and loading of ammunition is done primarily in the Czech Republic and Bulgaria. At the same time, manufacturers in Serbia are well aware of the real consumers of their products and the fact that their rockets and grenades will kill Russian military personnel and residents of Russian settlements," the statement said.
According to the data obtained, it is added that the Krušik factory from Valjevo recently sold several large batches of 122 mm rocket assembly kits for the Grad air-to-air missile system to the Czech company Policska Strojirna.
"The Loznik defense company "Eling" sent the Bulgarian company "EMKO" kits for the production of the same rockets, as well as mines of 120 mm caliber. For centuries, a common faith united the Serbian and Russian people and raised them to fight together against our enemies. "It is unfortunate that these traditions of friendship and mutual assistance are now being erased by the thirst for profit and cowardly multi-vectorism," the statement said.
Grenades, howitzers, bullets
Let's recall that the SVR reported at the end of May that the contribution of the Serbian defense industry to the war, which, as stated in the announcement, was started by the West and whose outcome Europe would like to see as a "strategic defeat" of Russia, amounts to hundreds of thousands of shells for the multi-barrel rocket and howitzer launch system, as well as a million bullets for small arms.
"Such deliveries can hardly be justified by 'humanitarian reasons'. They have only one obvious purpose - to kill and maim Russian soldiers and civilians," the statement of the Foreign Intelligence Service harshly assessed.
A "conveyor belt of death" for profit
As stated at the time, the largest companies of the domestic defense industry, including Jugoimport SDPR, Zenitprom, Krušik, Sofag, Reyer DTI, Sloboda, Prvi Partizan and others, are participating in the "transportation 'death lane' organized in Russia, which is friendly to Serbia."
"It seems that the desire of the Serbian arms manufacturers and their patrons to enrich themselves on the blood of the brotherly Slavic peoples has forced those people to completely forget who are their true friends and who are their enemies," SVR said at the time.
The neutral position is questionable
The Serbian government has maintained friendly ties with Russia under President Aleksandar Vučić, who has denied previous claims of Serbian arms shipments to Ukraine.
Belgrade positioned itself as neutral in the Russian-Ukrainian war, trying to balance the position of an EU candidate with long-standing relations with Moscow.
The "Financial Times" announced in June 2024 that Serbian ammunition worth 800 million euros had indirectly reached Ukraine.
