A truck driver from Đurđevo, Milomir Jaćimović, announced on his FB account that he will start a hunger strike in front of the Provincial Government building in Novi Sad (Banovina) from November 10, demanding that the buses for transporting passengers be returned to him.
Jaćimović was detained on Friday, November 7 in Žablje for disturbing public order and peace, after he blocked the approach to the Municipality building with a bus from his fleet and made noise as a sign of protest because the police would not return the confiscated buses to him.
On November 5, two vehicles were confiscated from him – a bus and a minibus. The first vehicle was confiscated by the police due to an alleged technical failure, defective left light and upper wiper, while on the same day, the minibus he used to transport passengers to the protest in Belgrade was confiscated.
Jaćimović became known to the general public after the fall of the canopy and the uprising of students and citizens. His statements remained consistent during this year of struggle: "I drive the students out of conviction," he said, noting that he is not asking for any financial compensation. On the other hand, he suffered and continues to suffer numerous pressures and attacks.
