An agreement was reached in Kosjerić: the group of citizens "United for Kosjerić" will participate in the upcoming local elections as a single opposition list. It will be a demonstrative exercise to unify the opposition
Local competitions are scheduled for June 8 elections in Kosjerić. When that news appeared, the students called for unification of opposition parties.
The opposition listened to the students, so they will perform as a group of citizens "United for Kosjeric".
Vladan Todorović from "Ujedinjeni" told "Vreme" that the meeting about the agreement was attended by representatives of all political parties and groups of citizens.
"Without a moment's hesitation, we all agreed on a common goal and then we started talking," explains the "Vremena" interlocutor.
They also agreed that political parties should give up their political prefixes. "We had to wait a while for them to consult with the headquarters. It's amazing that even the political representatives were disarmed by the idea of performing without political prefixes. At one meeting, high party representatives were present who said they had no problem with it."
In Kosjerić, the ruling coalition won a convincing victory in the previous elections, four years ago.
Todorović indicated that the atmosphere among citizens is now positive. "I'm not a politician and I was surprised why people saw it as a 'boom'. To me, it's just normal, if we have a goal and if we want it, we all have to give up everything to achieve it," he emphasizes.
Election campaign
When asked what they are planning for the pre-election campaign, Todorovic says that he would not present the campaign plan at the moment.
He says he will have the support of the students. He explains that even though they are a small place, there are people who don't just follow Pink and Informer TV. To those who only have those channels, they will try to reach good people, neighbors who have access to other media.
"There will be people who are closed, that's okay. We will respond to the machinery with a smile, love and empathy," emphasizes our interlocutor.
They are aware that the election conditions are not good, but they mustn't waste time - "that's why we organized like this, that's why we got the support of people from outside. Definitely, this is the beginning of the end."
Todorović concludes: "Kosjerić will be a training ground and demonstration exercise of a unique thing, and I am sure of victory regardless of the fact that they will come with their machinery."
