The balance of power of MPs who support the policy i everything represented by the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić and those who are opposed to it in the National Assembly after the extraordinary parliamentary elections held on December 17 did not fundamentally change. The Serbian Progressive Party and the Socialist Party of Serbia have a convincing majority additionally cemented by the support of some minority parties. They will be able to continue where they left off, in the way they exercised their parliamentary dominance.
Within the ruling SNS/SPS coalition, what is new compared to the previous elections is that the Progressives could form the Government themselves, which means that the blackmailing potential of the Socialists has been eliminated, "they have been returned to their place". This further strengthened the position of Aleksandar Vučić.
The opposition is led by the coalition of civic parties "Serbia Against Violence". On the right, things cleared up, only NADA led by Miloš Jovanović passed the 3 percent threshold.
The newspaper in the parliament is "We - the voice of the people" of the doctor Branimir Nestorović who will certainly contribute to the vaudeville atmosphere of the parliamentary sessions with the belief in aliens.
Although "Serbia against violence" demands a repeat of the elections at all levels due to electoral manipulations and fraud by the ruling parties, the republican elections can be considered completed. The discussion in the opposition is about whether, under the given circumstances, the opposition party will drown should they accept mandates or not.
