Veselin Milić, a long-time high official Ministry of the Interior of Serbia and the former chief of the Belgrade police, he was arrested on May 15, 2026 after the hearing in connection with the disappearance of Aleksandar Nešović aka Baja.
Shortly after he was arrested, the Ministry of Internal Affairs announced that Milić had been dismissed from the position of the head of the PU for the city of Belgrade.

From Užice police officer to Belgrade mayor
He was born in 1979 in Priboj. According to his official biography, he graduated from the Internal Affairs High School in Sremska Kamenica and the Police Academy in Belgrade.
He was admitted to the MUP in 1998 at the Secretariat of Internal Affairs in Užice, where he worked as a policeman. From 2003, he moved to Belgrade, to the position of assistant commander of the Savski venac Police Station, and then became deputy commander and commander of that station.
At the end of 2006, he was appointed head of the Security Department in the Police Department of the Police Department for the city of Belgrade. In the official biography, it is stated that he has been praised and awarded several times, as well as that he holds the rank of colonel.
From October 2011, he worked in the Police Directorate in the workplace of legality and security, then promotion, organization and functioning of the Police Directorate, and on September 19, 2013, by the decision of the Minister of Internal Affairs, he was appointed as the head of the Police Administration for the city of Belgrade.
In May 2026, he was arrested as part of the investigation into the disappearance of Aleksandar Nešović, who was last seen in Senjak. The Higher Public Prosecutor's Office in Belgrade announced that Milić was detained for up to 48 hours on suspicion of having committed criminal acts, failure to report the criminal act and the perpetrator, and assisting the perpetrator after the crime was committed.
According to the prosecutor's office and media reports, as part of the same investigation, members of the police from his security, as well as several other persons connected with the case, were arrested.
