Members of KFOR in Kosovo participated in a military exercise aimed at overcoming the phobia of fire, and the exercise was conducted by a multinational specialized unit with instructors from the Hungarian tactical reserve battalion of KFOR.
On its Facebook page, KFOR announced that the exercise was organized in the Novo Selo camp near Kosovska Mitrovica.
"These efforts are part of KFOR's daily activities to guarantee a safe and secure environment for all people living in Kosovo," KFOR said.
The NATO mission in Kosovo reminded once again that its mandate is based on Resolution 1244 of the United Nations Security Council.
It was emphasized that the goal of KFOR is to contribute to a safe and secure environment and freedom of movement for all people living in Kosovo.
KFOR reminded that it is the third in the response chain, after the Kosovo Police and EULEX, with whom they closely cooperate.

"Molotov cocktails" at KFOR members
Although there is no official explanation why KFOR members practiced defense against "Molotov cocktails" during training, it is assumed that the reason for this is the incidents that took place at the end of May 2023 in the north of Kosovo, in which more than 30 KFOR soldiers were injured , including those cocktails.
According to the Italian Ministry of Defense, KFOR members were injured because demonstrators threw "Molotov cocktails" at them, with nails, firecrackers and stones inside.
Among the injured were Italian, Hungarian and Moldovan soldiers, and "in unprovoked attacks, they received wounds with fractures and burns due to the explosion of incendiary devices", announced the Italian Ministry of Defense at the time.
