In his latest appearance on pro-government television, Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić defended the suspects in the brutal attack on students in Novi Sad, calling them "heroes" and accusing the injured of being similar to Nazis from Nazi Germany.

They were arrested and are in custody for two attacks on students that happened in the night between January 27 and 28, 2025 in Novi Sad. The attacks took place at two locations and on that occasion several students were seriously injured, including a female student of the Academy of Arts whose jaw was broken.

All the witnesses were injured, ostensibly, but in reality the attackers were blockaders of the premises of the SNS, like the Nazis in 34 who ransacked the party premises of their opponents, they also attacked the houses of their opponents. And that became a popular and God-pleasing act in Serbia..." Vučić pointed out.

Vučić then presented a strong criticism of the judicial system and announced a sharp response to this, as he said, "shameful decision" which was founded in the "color revolution". He then emphasized that "they let the terrorists go, and the guys who protected their party and ideas are sitting in prison", adding that the state will take revenge on those who support the coup plotters and attackers of state institutions.
