The Ministry of Internal Affairs announced the day after the protest in Novi Sad that the police during i after holding the protest "undertook measures and actions against 14 persons".
Prived faces they are charged with violent behavior at a public gathering, assault on an official, destruction of other people's property and possession of stun grenades and objects characterized as cold weapons, such as hammers.
"Police officers of the Novi Sad Police Administration are working intensively on further identification and arrest of all persons who participated in the violence," announced the MUP.
Representatives of the opposition and non-governmental organizations are, on the other hand, accused the regime that the rioters were "inserted elements", as well as that innocent activists were detained - while the main culprits went unpunished and are still at large.
After the MUP revealed that 14 people had been detained, information appeared on social networks that the actual number of those detained was much higher than what was shown to the public.

Ješić: It seems that more people were arrested at the protest in front of the court in Novi Sad than was announced
There was no official confirmation, but the former provincial official Goran Ješić, who was himself detained, was the first to publicly express this doubt.
After being released from custody, he stated that at this moment it is not known how many people are in custody and added that there are reports that several young men were arrested yesterday in front of the Novi Sad court, disclaiming that this is unverified information.
"This is the moment when we have to think only about how we will release those children as soon as possible and that instead of them in prison, and in those detentions, they will be the ones who are responsible for the disaster, tragedy and crime that happened at the station and such a number dead eight days ago," Ješić told N1.
He repeated that the main hooligans were not arrested.
"Those who destroyed the City Hall, those who left the premises of SNS a few tens of minutes before that, those who returned afterwards to SNS to receive a hot meal and daily allowance, they should have been in prison, not those children Ješić told Istučić that the riots were caused by "a team that was dressed the same, in the same uniform."

Jovović: According to my information, there were 15 arrested
Student and activist of the informal group "Stav" Lazar Dinić tells "Vreme" that he does not have accurate data on the number of citizens arrested after the protest, and that it would be a guess.
"The police announced that they detained 14 people, while unverified information appeared on social networks that the number was much higher, about 40. What is the truth, I don't know, I wouldn't bid," Dinić said.
The provincial representative of the Movement of Free Citizens, Radivoje Jovović, tells "Vreme" that he has information about 15 arrested citizens, and that any assumption would be frivolous.
"According to my information, and they are quite up-to-date, there were 14 people until yesterday, and then Bojan Terzić, from the political platform 'Solidarity', was arrested, so that number is now 15. He was transferred to the prison in Klisa. That is the information I have. Everything else would be speculation," Jovović noted.
He repeated that the plainclothes police arrested citizens after the protest in Novi Sad by not showing their badges or introducing themselves.
"It really looked more like a kidnapping than a classic arrest." There were other violations of procedures. The aforementioned Bojan Terzić was taken into custody, and he was placed in the Klisa prison, so a whole series of police abuses were committed," Jovović pointed out.

"They were ordered to be detained so that they would not repeat the crime in a short period of time and because of public anxiety," Tanjug was told in the High Court in Novi Sad.
For the same reasons and for the same criminal offense, the juvenile judge of the High Court in Novi Sad ordered custody of up to 30 days for the suspected minor DR.

A group of protest participants, among other things, threw torches into the City Hall building in Novi Sad after breaking the windows of the building, which caused the ground floor of the building, where the police were stationed, to catch fire.
A violent group of protest participants also attacked the SNS premises in Novi Sad and tore the Serbian flag.
