Prime Minister Đuro Macut proposed on Monday that the Government of Serbia send a letter to the President of the Republic, Aleksandar Vučić a reasoned proposal for the dissolution of the National Assembly and the calling of extraordinary elections for deputies. On Wednesday, Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić dissolved the National Assembly and announced parliamentary elections for October 25.
Through a game of historical irony, this news, which after almost two years of social rebellion led by the student movement, eventually summarized in a request to call elections, otherwise dominated the media space, fell into the shadows Ratko Mladic's funeral.
Šešelj's radicals, who on October 21, 2008 took off their cockades, put on ready-made suits and founded the Serbian Progressive Party (SNS), exchanging Greater Serbia for the European Union, are officially starting the election race from the Topčider cemetery, reset to their original settings, stripped of make-up, glorifying the convicted war criminal as a Serbian hero.
All that is left is for Vučić to finally rename Zoran Đinđić Boulevard to Ratko Mladić Boulevard, so as to close the circle of value impasse in which Serbia has spiraled.

When Mladic had already passed away just before the elections were announced, the progressives tried to talk about the former commander of the Republika Srpska Army, "unjustly" convicted of genocide and war crimes, additionally diverted attention from the murderous corruption and lawless state against which part of the society rebelled, led by student movement.
In the revision of history served to the Serbian society, the message from the top of the government reads that the same people who killed the defender of the Serbian race in Bosnia in the justice of God in the Hague casemate, are now raiding against Serbia and supporting the rector Vladan Djokic and other blockade-terrorists.

A vote for them would therefore be a vote for the murderers of the beloved general.
That narrative resounds loudly in the pre-election space, where two principles essentially collide: the principle of a leader who is above institutions, the Constitution and the law, and the principle of a republic and the rule of law, in which everyone is equal before the law.
That is the essential choice in these parliamentary elections that the voters are facing.
Outlining the dirtiest picks ever
There is no doubt that the regime is shaken, but the government's strategists have estimated that the time has come for the final confrontation with the "terrorist blockaders", because after 14 years, time is no longer in the hands of the progressives. And everything, including the presidential elections, should be finished by Expo 2027.
It is also certain that the leaders and beneficiaries of the regime will fight with their hands and feet - which in the case of the Serbian Progressive Party means the state budget and controlled media, hoaxes, frauds and deceptions, petty and big criminals, the prosecution, the police and secret services, beating units - against all who threaten it.
How far the progressive conglomerate is ready to go, despite the international observation missions that will be present, also shows that the president of Serbia has preserved extraterritoriality of Pioneer Park, the base of its paramilitary formations, which will be full of holes in the night after the closing of the polling stations, where they will wait for orders after the announcement of the winner of the election.

All signs indicate that the parliamentary elections announced for October 25 will be the dirtiest and roughest in the modern history of Serbia, full of election thefts and election violence.
General conditions are worse than they were in the elections on December 17, 2023, regardless of the famous, now forgotten, recommendations of the ODIHR.
Who is running for election and in which coalitions?
Panic barrage of fire at voters
One gets the impression that the pre-election campaign of the SNS candidate for prime minister, which he has intensified since the beginning of the year, is quite spontaneous.
Tent caravans with barbecue and brandy that circled Serbia seemed grotesque, defiant Vučić's departure to Užice in which it is unwelcome, it looked like the invasion of the occupier into the Republic of Užice, the pompous announcement of the celebration of his image in Novi Sad was scattered in the wind after assessing the security and, above all, the reputational risk, he slipped to the National Theater in Nis through a mouse hole secured by strong police forces so that the SNS Main Committee could officially elect him as the holder of its list.
There was nothing glorious about that production.
Vučić literally does not leave the TV screen, on top of that he started his own podcast, before that, the platform "Who are you?" on which "the people" should expose the overly arrogant SNS officials.
The government is showering voters with wage and pension increases, financial aid, lowering the price of medicines, Chinese robots are playing moravac.
Progressive marketing doctors take the pulse of the nation every day. Based on their diagnosis, Vučić uses the aiming devices, shoots both left and right, and forward and backward, the fire cannot be concentrated, which gives the impression of being executed on the waves imbued with a feeling of unquestionable power and invincibility after everything that this government has done with impunity in the last 14 years.
Vučić also announced that a few weeks before the elections, he will resign from the post of President of Serbia and as an ordinary citizen, as one of us, as an ordinary man, humble and humble, alone against everyone, in his private car, accompanied by a "tamik" in which he will talk to the citizens, and start the final campaign.
That is the final picture with which, for now, he wants to send the voters to the polls.
The entire progressive election machinery is focused only on Vučić, whose rating is far higher than the popularity of the SNS, whose immersion in corruption and dirty business cannot be concealed in any way, just like the arrogance of party privilege users across the country.
After Vučić, nothingness, that is. Thompson instead of Cece
"Remember my words: if the government changes, the future government in Serbia will force you, it will force Serbs to go to Thompsons concerts and will tell us how this is new patriotism and how this is new cooperation in Europe. Remember what I told you, they will make the Serbs shout: 'For the Commission' and to shout how nice they are to shout: 'Ready for home!'" exclaimed the President of Serbia recently.
No matter how incoherent, even stupid it sounds to a part of the society that if Serbian students win the elections, they will introduce Ustasha into Serbia in a big way, this statement is the backbone around which Vučić's campaign revolves: after me, only flood, nothingness, slavery, unemployment and hunger can follow, which means that all means are allowed to prevent such a cataclysm.
Serbia wins, if Vučić loses
On the other side of the political front, the message is that if Vučić wins, Serbia loses, that Serbia wins if he loses.
No matter how much the disagreements among the students about the final composition of the Student List became public, it is to be expected that when the elections are officially announced, the students will step onto the stage in unison and disperse all over Serbia with the slogan "Either Serbia, or the mafia".
All opposition parties play secondary roles, which, in the name of the proclaimed interests of the country, should be subordinated to the main actor, the student movement, either by consolidation that guarantees passing the census, or wholeheartedly supporting the only political movement that has a chance to bring about changes in Serbia.

For established political organizations, these elections are a remedial test of political responsibility.
The cards will soon be dealt to the end, and the marked ones, the government will try to fix the game, but despite everything, the citizens of this country, as the bearers of sovereignty, within the new or old election screens, will have the opportunity to circle the hope for changes in such a large number, instead of the hopelessness of immutability, that no machinations of the regime will help.
Because that's what it's all about, the choice between the progressive aggregate state, at best, remaining unchanged, or Serbia getting a chance for something new, for changing the political and state system.
Otherwise, after the election, they will shout "Ready for Vučić", and for many years to come.
