Group "Goblins", she sent an open letter to the organizers of "Beer Day" in Zrenjanin, after they canceled performance that was scheduled for August 8.
"Goblins" state that as a reason for canceling cooperation, the organizers stated that "they are not interested in performers who at this moment have political connotations" and that Beer Days is "a family event of an entertaining character".
The band emphasizes that it has no political involvement in Serbia.
As they add, their songs were always aimed at recognizing all the flaws and weaknesses of the society in which they live and work.
"In the current turmoil, we have chosen a clear side and we will emphasize it once again: Goblins support the youth of their country. Aware that we will disappoint many fans by not showing up, we are extremely glad that you recognize the consistency and principle of Goblins, which has not changed for 33 years. Supporting students (and all other like-minded people) and their demands is our contribution to the fight for the rule of law and a better future for those same families who, as you mentioned, made Beer Days organize", says this band.
As they say, they hope to "meet again at some different Beer Days where the political henchmen of the current ruling party (or any future one) will not decide on the political suitability of the performers."
"At the end of the day, since it's a family event, let the audience decide," the Goblins conclude.
This punk band from Šabac recently released a new song "Let's go to the end", for which the video was made by students of the Faculty of Dramatic Arts (FDU) in Belgrade.
